Commercial Director - Education Segment (South America) em Brazil

Schneider Electric · UNAVAILABLE, Brazil

About the role

Commercial Director - Education Segment (South America)

About the Education Segment

Schneider Electric's Education Segment provides technical training solutions that close the skills gap in energy, automation and digital technologies. We equip technical and vocational institutes, universities, government skilling programmes and industry academies with hands-on training labs, curricula, digital learning, train-the-trainer programmes and certification.

Demand is rising fast. Governments are investing heavily in workforce skilling, industry faces acute technician shortages, and the energy transition and smart manufacturing need new skills at scale. The segment has already helped more than 200,000 young people gain job-ready skills.

We are now building a dedicated, multi-country organisation to grow the business across six markets, with its own business development, engineering and delivery teams. South America is a priority growth region.

Purpose of the role

Lead the Education Segment's business across South America. You will meet the growing need for industry-grade technical training solutions among institutes, governments and employers in the region.

You will lead growth and the regional team, building long-term partnerships with public and private institutions. You will establish the business in Brazil and build it from first references into a sustainable, multi-country business across South America.

Market overview

South America is a fast-developing market for technical training. Modernisation in mining, energy and manufacturing, a rapid build-out of renewable energy, and growing automation are creating strong demand for job-ready technical skills.

Public and private institutions across the region, including national industrial training networks, technical institutes and universities, are modernising their training to keep pace with these changes. They are looking for trusted partners who can deliver complete, industry-grade training solutions.

Key responsibilities

Strategy and growth

  • Set and own the regional growth strategy: segment priorities, country entry sequence and account plans for Brazil, Colombia and other South American markets.

  • Target national industrial training networks, federal and state technical institutes, universities, government skilling programmes and industry academies in mining, energy and manufacturing.

  • Establish the business in Brazil first, then expand step by step into Colombia and the Andean mining and energy markets.

  • Build a strong portfolio of opportunities and partnerships that deliver the regional plan.

Partnerships and solutions

  • Work with institutions to understand their training needs and shape complete training solutions: labs, curricula, digital learning, train-the-trainer and certification across smart factory, energy, buildings, data centre and digital domains.

  • Contribute to national curricula and lab standards, so that training reflects what industry needs.

  • Build trusted relationships with senior leaders of public and private institutions.

  • Organise hands-on demonstrations and reference-site visits for institutions across the region.

  • Help institutions access flexible funding models: leasing, subscription, government programme funding, corporate social investment, development finance and impact finance.

Ecosystem and alliances

  • Build alliances with system integrators, local partners and distributors, industry employers, corporate foundations and development finance institutions.

  • Work closely with Schneider Electric country organisations across South America to build on existing relationships in the region.

Team and business management

  • Hire and lead a multi-country team of business development, partnership and solution consulting professionals across Brazil and Colombia.

  • Own the region's performance and sustainable business growth.

  • Build the team step by step as the business grows.

  • Work closely with the Americas Operations Centre so that every institution receives a solution that works from day one.

Key relationships

  • Internal: Head of Education Segment; Customer Projects & Services Director and the Americas Operations Centre; Engineering Director and product owners; Marketing and business excellence teams; Schneider Electric country organisations, finance and legal across South America.

  • External: senior leaders of public and private institutions; national industrial training networks and technical education bodies; federal and state technical institutes; rectors and heads of institutes; mining, energy and manufacturing employers; partners, corporate foundations and finance providers.

Candidate profile

  • Strong professional background in business development or solutions leadership with public and private institutions, with proven experience leading multi-country teams through senior managers and managers.

  • Proven success building partnerships with public and private institutions in Brazil, and experience doing business in other South American countries.

  • A track record of building a business from a low base to scale and of leading large, complex programmes with public institutions.

  • Strong network in technical education, vocational training or workforce development; experience in education equipment, industrial automation or energy is a strong plus.

  • Able to engage confidently with senior leaders of public and private institutions and to design flexible or outcome-based partnership models.

  • Strong business acumen and planning discipline.

  • Degree in engineering or a related field; MBA preferred. Fluent Portuguese, Spanish and English.

  • Based in Brazil and willing to travel extensively across South America.
