We are hiring a Quantity Surveyor for a specialised engineering company.

about the job

• Tendering & Estimating: Break down ITTs, drawings, and soil reports to execute full take-offs and build the BOQ. Price up labour, plant, materials, and prelims while flagging commercial risks before bid submission.

• Sub-Con Procurement: Send out RFQs, run apple-to-apple price comparisons, and negotiate for the best rates. Handle LOAs and ensure all back-to-back clauses and warranties are firmly locked into the subcontracts.

• Contract Admin: Navigate standard form contracts (SIA, PSSCOC, FIDIC). Manage VOs and ensure head-contract obligations flow down properly to protect project margins.

• Progress Claims (As Needed): Discuss and agree on measurements with the client’s QS/Engineer. Push through monthly payment apps (backed by site photos/lab tests) and certify sub-con claims, factoring in retention sums and contra-charges.

skills and experience required

• Minimum Diploma in Quantity Surveying or its equivalent.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in both tendering and site-based post-contract roles.
• Proficiency in cost systems and MS Excel.
