About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Portfolio Oversight to play a key leadership role within Group Risk, supporting strong credit quality, portfolio governance and risk oversight across the business.

This is a highly visible leadership opportunity where you will lead the Portfolio Oversight team, driving governance, reporting and control effectiveness while partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to influence risk outcomes. You'll play an important role in strengthening risk governance practices, building team capability and fostering a strong risk culture aligned to ANZ's credit principles and policies.

What will your day look like?

In this role, you will

  • Lead the Portfolio Oversight team, managing credit governance processes, reporting and control effectiveness.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and influence risk outcomes across business units and governance forums.
  • Oversee audit, compliance and regulatory engagement activities, ensuring timely resolution of issues and actions.
  • Build team capability while promoting a strong risk culture, compliance and continuous improvement practices.
  • Provide oversight and insights to support sound risk management and portfolio outcomes.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to strengthen governance frameworks and risk management practices.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance portfolio oversight and organisational capability.

To be successful in this role, you will bring

  • Strong leadership, influencing and stakeholder management capability.
  • Advanced knowledge of risk management, governance frameworks and regulatory environments.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex risk environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience preparing and contributing to executive-level papers.
  • An adaptable and open-minded approach, with the ability to pivot and adjust your thinking and judgement to evolving business needs and priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams through change while fostering a positive, high-performing culture.
  • Proven ability to engage teams, bring people on the journey and drive successful outcomes.
  • Deep expertise in credit policies and governance frameworks will be highly regarded.
