About the Role

ANZ has one of the largest Loan Syndications teams in Asia-Pacific with specialists based in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, New York and London. The team specialises in originating, structuring, arranging, underwriting and distributing syndicated loan products.

As Director, Loan Syndications you will work extensively with the senior management of borrowers, investors and internal stakeholders including relationship managers, credit risk and other product partners.

This is a senior role within the Loan Syndications team with responsibility to drive the origination of new syndicated loan mandates across a portfolio of existing and target customers. This role leads deal teams in ensuring these transactions reach financial close in a timely and efficient manner while providing an exceptional customer experience.

What will your day look like?

You are accountable for

• Driving origination of new syndicated loan mandates across a portfolio of existing and target customers
• Providing insight, ideas and solutions to customers for their varied financing needs
• Proactively targeting event driven financing opportunities
• Developing thoroughly considered underwriting proposals on transaction opportunities
• Providing strong deal team leadership across a diverse range of transaction structures, sectors and geographies
• Representing ANZ in the external market and developing/maintaining strong investor and client relationships
• Helping to expand the pool of investors available for the distribution of loan transactions
• Providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the team

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you’ll ideally bring the following:

• Extensive experience in loan syndications with established Asia-Pacific loan market networks
• Deep understanding of debt structuring, and advanced knowledge of facility documentation and negotiation
• Strong marketing skills to originate new transactions, and experience presenting to clients, investors and the broader market
• Strong deal leadership and influencing skills, with ability to efficiently manage multiple internal and external stakeholders
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage concurrent transactions and priorities
• Ability to provide commercially sound financing insights, ideas and solutions for varied customer needs
