The Sort Department is responsible for inspecting and evaluating incoming core parts to determine their suitability for remanufacturing. Team members receive returned or used components from customers and perform a detailed assessment of each part based on established quality standards and remanufacturing criteria.
During the sorting process, employees visually inspect and, when necessary, measure components for damage, wear, cracks, corrosion, missing pieces, and other defects. Parts are then classified according to their condition. Components that meet remanufacturing requirements are routed for further processing, while parts that are beyond repair or do not meet specifications are rejected and disposed of or recycled according to company procedures.
The department plays a critical role in maintaining product quality, controlling manufacturing costs, and ensuring that only viable cores enter the remanufacturing process. Accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to quality standards are essential to support production efficiency and customer satisfaction.
This department serves as the first quality gate in the remanufacturing process, helping to ensure that resources are focused on components that can be successfully restored to meet customer and company specifications.
