Drill Bit Repair Technician: Dammam 2nd industrial City

About the role

  • Repair and assemble drill bits and DLR equipment to a high standard.
  • Complete manual and machine grinding, blast cleaning, inspection, brazing and hardfacing tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all repaired equipment meets required quality, technical and operational standards.
  • Carry out bit movements and material handling as required.
  • Support the Operations Manager/Supervisor in maintaining an efficient workflow and meeting operational deadlines.
  • Comply with all company health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Adherence to contractual obligations, such as timekeeping.

  • Assembling components to engineering drawings and set procedures.

  • Good knowledge and practical skills in various torch brazing and hardfacing processes.

  • A comprehensive understanding of the use oxy/acetylene & propane equipment and processes and necessary checks.

  • Use handheld grinding tools and gas torches for hardfacing and brazing jobs.

  • Inspect parts according to frequency specified and report any non-conformances and be knowledgeable in using standard measuring instruments and inspection techniques.

  • Be fully aware of personal workload, prioritize and organize to ensure deadlines are achieved.

  • Ensure a high standard of professionalism is maintained and that customer care is foremost.

  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area and department.

  • Ensure personal compliance with all HSE legislation and HSE Company policy.

  • Contribute to the development of systems and improvement in working practices and processes.

  • Be fully familiar and conversant with department and company policies, procedures, and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are always in full compliance.

  • Forklift loading and unloading as required.

  • Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager

Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or GED Certificate in metal fabrication or 3-6 years or related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • TIG welding competantices. Experience with the application of thermal related processes using oxy fuel hardfacing and bracing processes is desirable.
  • Previous welding experience in a light/heavy fabrication environment would be advantageous.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
