As a Crater of our Conroe ISE team, you will play a vital part of the supply chain process – overseeing the efficient prepping and packaging of our products, implementing and sustaining effective processes and systems ensuring that targets within the warehouse and shipping are met. You will be a crucial collaborator to implementing and control efficiency, effective forward and reverse flow of goods between the point of origin and the point of consumption to meet both the business’ and customers’ requirements. You will utilize your specific packaging experience to continually improve team performance and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Support daily crating and shipping operations by preparing, labeling, weighing, and documenting orders for dispatch.
- Maintain a productive, orderly and clean work environment.
- Interface professionally with multiple departments: Sales, Service, Assembly, Shipping, Receiving, Document Control, and Quality.
- Tag equipment according to assembly pre-stamping procedure.
- Prepare shipments including boxing, weighing, labelling and consolidating order lines if possible.
- Submit prepared material and proper paperwork to the shipper for actual dispatch to the customer.
- Notify appropriate departments of any discrepancies and/or problems with material.
- Operate the warehouse or crating machinery in a safe manner and reporting any equipment maintenance or problems to your immediate supervisor.
- Order supplies needed to keep up with all packaging needs.
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and order pulling when required.
- Ensure all international crates meet the IPPC standards and document the amount of wood used.
- Follow and enforce all safety and environmental policies and programs; use personal safety devices as required by company policy; report any activities that could be detrimental to safety and/or the loss of productivity; report any injuries when they occur.
- Resolve problems through collaboration and sharing with their teammates.
- Assist in mentoring and training of future crating personnel.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
- Forklift experience preferred
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, preferred.
- Minimum of two years related work experience required.
- Exceptional carpentry skill or willingness to be trained to achieve necessary skills.
- Exceptional ability to manage own time when performing a job.
- Able to follow customer packaging requirements specified on the order.
- Able to use MRP system to prepare paperwork to turn into shipping.
- Good computer skills.
- Able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and stand for up to 8 hours or more.
- Able to work extra hours daily and on weekends as required.
- Able to pass a background check, physical and drug test.
