The EOE Research Director defines and drives the research agenda for operations, platforms, applications and capabilities to ensure the MSN operating model and tools architecture remain leading edge and steer the EOE roadmap towards higher levels of autonomy
Define, maintain & execute a research agenda for MSN operations and EOE, aligned with MSN and BU Cloud Software & Services strategy
Build relationships with internal and external research partners (e.g. R&D units, industry & standards bodies, MSN partners, analysts)
Scan and synthesize developments and innovations in operations autonomy and cloud-based operations across the market, industry & standards bodies, hyper-scalers, competitors, and internal R&D into regular actionable intelligence
Research for future MSN operating models and AN evolution, and feed concepts and patterns into the MSN operating model and tools roadmap.
Identify and analyze emerging technologies and methods (excluding AI) that can enhance MSN operations
Collaborate with AI Innovation team on the long-term AI and autonomy vision for network operations, including reference models and target maturity levels
Bespoke research in support of new offerings or entry into new market segments
Deliver clear recommendations on innovations that could be adopted into MSN operating model and tools
Support thought leadership and knowledge-sharing activities (e.g. white papers, internal forums, conferences)
Support MSN’s external positioning as a thought leader in autonomous, AI-driven operations.
Request information and input from MSN units, product/platform teams to support research requests and activities.
Build relationships with internal and external research partners (e.g. R&D units, industry and standard bodies, MSN partners, analysts, and hyper-scalers)
Education – University degree in engineering, business, computer science or related field
Experience – applied research, innovation or portfolio management, preferably in telecom or technology
Skills – solid business and financial acumen; good stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to communicate complex technical findings in a clear, business-relevant way to a variety of audiences
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong fluency in English (written and spoken)
Understanding of managed services, and/or AI and automation in networks
An understanding of the Ericsson Operations Engine
Adept at using AI for workplace-based productivity

Office-based for a minimum of 60% of the working week. Travel is expected in the range of 10% on average, but can rise to around 20% based upon business need. If not based in the UK, a minimum of one week in four will be based in the UK.
