Build the backbone of naval engineering with a role that counts.
At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us, you can play your part as a Mechanical Fitter at HMNB Clyde, near Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute.
The role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of our Marine Engineering team, helping to maintain and support critical systems that keep the Royal Navy operational. This is more than just a job - it’s a chance to work on high-integrity assets that protect our nation and make a real impact on global security.
You’ll be part of a skilled and supportive team, developing your expertise in a dynamic environment where safety, precision and innovation are paramount. Whether you're inspecting, repairing or improving mechanical systems, your work will directly contribute to national defence and your own professional growth.
This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday and is based at HMNB Clyde Faslane site.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.
