JOB TITLE: Toolmaker: Levels I, II, III
SUPERVISOR: Tooling Machine Supervisor
Construct, refurbish and repair mold components using CNC and manual machines.
Journeyman Level I : Assist Area Supervisor in organizing and directing the activities of employee’s primary area.
Use caution and support systems to assure a safety event free facility.
Respond to any emergency or potential emergency following established procedures.
Observe, respond and report any instance of product, service, or quality systems non-conformity.
Security diligence, including maintaining control of key cards, preventing unauthorized entry to Berry facilities by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of Berry equipment and information.
Successfully complete Primary Duties as outlined in 4.0 and associated training.
Pause activities and notify Safety lead in any facility regarding instances of potentially unsafe work environments or employee and supplier practices.
Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product, service or quality systems.
Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, or systems and verify the implementation of solutions.
Operate assigned make of CNC or manual machine(s).
Use precision measuring tools to accurately record dimensions of components.
Assist superiors in any day to day activity.
Maintain cleanliness of shop.
Work overtime as needed.
Develop better understanding of machine functions and the setup process
Learn Mastercam, CNC and / or Mazatrol programming
Learn how to hold tight tolerances in efficient time.
Hold tight tolerances in efficient time.
Program using Mastercam, CNC, and / or Mazatrol
Perform general CNC operations from setup to finish dimension.
Read and understand blue prints.
Develop skills in quality investigation, CMM operation, Assembly, or other focus areas within the Tool Shop.
Use shop schedule to accurately schedule operations within individual work cell.
Assist superiors with work flow in shop and completion schedule.
Train and assist Level III and II Journeymen to hold tight tolerances in efficient time.
Read blue prints and direct others on processes.
Use shop schedule to accurately schedule projects within area cells.
Assist superiors with decision making in machining processes, quality investigation, and / or CMM operation.
High school education / GED equivalent
Ability to occasionally climb on and off a forklift safely and without assistance.
Ability to safely operate a forklift in high traffic, low clearance areas while not posing a safety risk to others. Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.
Able to accurately read blue prints.
Ability to push/pull loads of approximately 75 lbs at a minimum of 10 times per day/shift.
Able to stand/walk for 7.5 hours of an 8-hour shift.
Must be a Certified Journeyman Tool Maker or have equivalent experience.
Has experience in at least one of the following areas: Grinding, Mill, Lathe, Welding, Polish, EDM, Turn, Quality and / or Assembly, etc.
Strong work history of consistent attendance and overtime flexibility.
Has significant experience in at least two of the following areas: Grinding, Mill, Lathe, Welding, Polish, EDM, Turn, Quality and / or Assembly, etc.
Ability to program using Mastercam, CNC, and / or Mazatrol
Understands the injection or blow molding process and how each component affects the total outcome.
Must be Certified Journeyman Tool Maker.
Proven ability to lead, motivate and direct employees.
Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
Have advanced knowledge of Mastercam, CNC and / or Mazatrol software.
Fully understand the injection or blow molding process and how each component we make affects the total outcome.
Has significant expertise in two or more of the following areas: Grinding, Mill, Lathe, Welding, Polish, EDM, Turn, Quality and / or Assembly, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent problem solving skills.
